Spanish Tapas Bar Cooking Class, PER

The focal point of Spain’s vibrant and social culinary scene is undeniably the tapas; perfect for sharing with friends on balmy summer nights. These delicious bites are famed for their versatility. They can be enjoyed as a brief snack, or eaten in combination to make up a hearty meal. They can be simple and approachable, or intricate enough to challenge the seasoned chef or stimulate the ardent foodie.
Located in West Perth, this experience will see a skilful chef teach a class of eighteen people (one voucher required for each student) how to expertly prepare a menu of seven diverse tapas dishes, as follows:
- Pollo asado and chorizo pintxos (gf)
- Grilled smoky spring onion, accompanied by a salbitxada sauce (gf)
- Grilled sourdough with garlic and tomato
- Patatas bravas with genuine aioli (gf)
- Manchego cheese wrapped with orange blossom and jamón (gf)
- Prawn escabèche (gf)
- Salted chocolate and vanilla churros balls
Students will work on tables of nine so that they can support each other along the way and share in all the fun. Meanwhile, the studio is equipped with a demonstration bench so that the students have a perfect view of the chef’s every move during critical moments throughout the process. And of course, the chef will be more than happy to answer any questions along the way, making for a low-pressure, enjoyable cooking experience!
Once the seven dishes have been prepared, the whole class will gather around a long table to feast on tapas in the Spanish way: surrounded by new friends and with plenty of laughs. And, if they desire, students are free to bring their own refreshments to keep the good times rolling.
Even when the class has finished, this experience will keep on giving. Students will leave with their own full set of recipes so that they can recreate the dishes at home, impressing friends and family who of course will be more than willing to share in the culinary delights. Furthermore, students will learn techniques and tricks of the trade that can be applied to a diverse range of cuisines!
As safety is paramount in any kitchen worth its salt, students must wear flat, closed footwear, tie back long hair, and wear appropriate clothing.
