Moorilla’s Posh-As Day at Mona, TAS
See the Best of this Hidden Gem, in Decadent Style
With this package, guests will experience the very best that Tasmania’s Moorilla Estate has to offer, with eight fun-filled hours to explore its many surprises, including Mona – Australia’s largest privately-owned museum and art gallery – along with its very own winery and restaurant. One voucher is valid for one guest, and a minimum of two participants are required per tour.
The estate is situated on the banks of the Derwent River, on the Berriedale peninsula just outside of Hobart. The museum contains approximately 300 artworks and relics, many steeped in controversy with a throught-provoking and subversive theme. The building, along with its luxury accommodations, restaurant, and cellar door, all have stunning and distinctive architecture, based at a truly gorgeous scenic location.
The day kicks off at 9:30am, when guests get on board the MR-1 fast ferry at the Brooke St Pier in Hobart. They’ll ride in the exclusive VIP Posh Pit on their way to the estate, while enjoying Moorilla’s very own wines and beers, and snacking on delicious finger-food.
Upon arrival, they’ll be introduced to Moorilla and the museum, which they’ll be able to explore at their leisure during the day (admission included). At 11am, guests will embark on a guided journey through the winery, jam-packed with special opportunities. They’ll learn about the entire wine-making process, making their way from the vines all the way through to the spectacular underground barrel room, sampling the newest batches along the way. In the barrel room, they wine ambassador will take participants through a fully tailored tasting session, and each person will leave with their very own bottle of pinot noir (the winery’s most celebrated variety) to take home with them.
After that, voucher recipients will make their way to the estate’s magnificent restaurant, The Source, for a delectable two course meal, paired with two glasses of the best wines from the Cloth Label and Muse series. This will be followed by a decadent dessert and cocktail, all the while savouring the gorgeous views of the vineyard, river, and Mount Wellington as a backdrop.
The afternoon can be spent exploring Mona, and later enjoying a complimentary afternoon tea, before jumping back on board the fast ferry to cruise back to Hobart in style at 5pm. As alcohol will be served throughout the day, guests must be 18 years or older, and staff should be alerted to any dietary requirements during booking.
The package can be used any day of the week except for Tuesday, but bookings are subject to availability. Changes to the booking can be made for free with more than one week’s notice, but will be charged at half the total cost thereafter. Everything But Flowers experience vouchers are redeemable directly with the experience provider with full details provided upon purchase. Recipients have 3 years to use the full value of the voucher.
