Seppeltsfield Winery Centenary Tasting, SA
Taste a Century-old Single Vintage Tawny, & More!
South Australia’s Barossa Valley, about 70 km north of Adelaide, is a wine region steeped in history. You can feel it driving through the quaint German-influenced villages, dotted with gorgeous historic buildings. But there is surely no better way to really sense (and even taste!) the history of the region, than by visiting the Seppeltsfield Winery (Est. 1851), and touring its 100 year old Centennial Cellar.
This cellar is home to the longest continuous line of single-vintage wines in the world – the Paramount Collection of aged Tawnys. And, this voucher entitles one person (with a minimum requirement of two) to partake in a special hour-long guided tour of the cellar (departing daily at 10am and 2pm), during which they’ll get to taste selected super-premium vintages straight from the barrels, including their birth year and the coveted hundred-year-old Para Vintage.
Seppeltsfield’s wine educator will also give detailed explanations of the rich history of the winery and this remarkable tradition, and describe the changes that take place within the barrels as the wine stacks on the years. A truly unique wine tasting experience, and a fabulous Father’s or Mother’s Day gift!
Once the tour ends, visitors may like to explore the rest of the iconic wine estate, and taste their other fantastic offerings. And then, of course, there are dozens of other wineries and restaurants to explore, to round out a memorable visit to one of the country’s premier wine regions.
