The Barossa Valley wine region is world famous – with people from all over the globe making the special trip to Adelaide especially to experience some of Australia’s oldest vines and the world class wine that comes from the area, before getting taken by the rest of what SA has to offer. But many are often pleasantly surprised when they discover it’s not only wine this region specialises in, but the local gourmet food is something incredibly special too. Our Barossa Valley Gourmet Food & Wine Tour truly showcases the beauty of Barossa Valley produce, exploring some of the best parts, while also driving through stunning scenery.

Their full day tour (around 9 hours) will begin with a collection from their Hahndorf, Glenelg or Adelaide city accommodation before winding their way through the stunning leafy hills villages of Stirling, Aldgate and Bridgewater to end up at the historic Herbig Family Tree in the quaint town of Springton on the edge of the Barossa Valley. They will then move on to gorgeous Angaston as their first stop in the Barossa, for some cheese tasting.

Then moving onto Tanunda, one of the bigger Barossa Valley towns, they will sip on morning tea or coffee and indulge in a yummy cake from the Tanunda Bakery’s big selection of delights. Next is Seppeltsfield Winery – famous for its palm lined roads and stunning grounds to enjoy some wine tastings and explore the property.

Next is off to Nurioopta, where they will visit Maggie Beer’s Farm Shop to indulge in a tasting of her world known long line of products, and explore “The Cook and the Chef” TV set. Here there is also the option of getting the blood pumping and jumping on an optional 10-minute helicopter ride over the Barossa Valley for an extra charge.

For lunch, they will visit Lou Miranda Estate in Rowland Flat – famous for their delicious menu and a very popular lunch spot – where they can enjoy a la carte lunch with a glass of their favourite wine from the tasting before lunch. The a la carte lunch and glass of wine are included within the experience. After lunch, they will head off to Lyndoch, where they will visit Kellermeister Cellar Door for tastings of cider, wine and chocolate liqueur, before heading to more chocolate indulgence at Schild Estate, where they will enjoy 5 matched gourmet chocolates or wines complete with a cheese platter.

Finally, they will visit the famous Whispering Wall before making their way back to the accommodation. They will also be given a complimentary box of chocolates, which can be enjoyed on the ride home or taken home. This full day tour includes all the food and wine tastings, along with the morning tea and the lunch with wine. An amazing experience for both local or traveller alike; giving them the chance to see first-hand the beautiful produce that comes from the Barossa Valley.
